Importance of a Smile

Research shows that most of the impact of your communication is non-verbal. Non-verbal means sending messages without words.

Your emotions are "leaked" through your eyes, face, torso and voice.  Since it is hard to control non-verbal messages, people weigh these cues much more heavily when trying to understand you.

Be aware of how you might be coming across non-verbally.

Practical tip: smile with your mind first. Think of things that are pleasant and humorous, then your smiling will be natural.
